Zoran brings his great sense of humor, experience and knowledge to his work as a systems engineer with All Mountain Technologies. We sat down with him and asked him a few questions to get to know him better and find out what makes him tic.
“I was born in Serbia, but around the age of 3 my whole family temporarily emigrated to Zimbabwe… for 20 years! They were on route to Australia where they had jobs and a new life ready and waiting, however the ineffable charm and culture of the African continent ensured they’d never make it to their intended destination. In 2013 I returned to Serbia, for 6 years before finally landing in neighboring Macedonia, where I currently live… For how long, who knows!”
“I studied at SAE Institute in Belgrade, Serbia, an institution specializing in degree programs for Audio Engineering, Film, Animation, and Web Design.”
“Back in 1996 a family friend, and a brilliant Linux programmer (incredibly rare in those days), set up a dial-up modem for us and set about downloading a game. One which would spark my interest in technology as well as gaming (and would also intrinsically link these two concepts, but that came later). This game would be the catalyst for all I’ve achieved today… And would also take all night to download on a painfully slow dial-up connection! That game was Doom, and although I was probably way too young to fully appreciate what I was seeing, it’s the reason I’ve chosen my path today.”
“Primarily carrying out project-related tasks for clients, and ensuring these jobs get delivered efficiently, correctly, and on time. Also, in depth research and problem-solving for larger projects and tasks, both client-facing and internal. One of the benefits working remotely offers: pure, unadulterated concentration so I’m able to see tasks through from start to finish.
Oh and helping Pam, our service director keep her sanity in check, that’s a big one. I work during clients’ off-peak hours where we can tinker and improve the process every day.”
“Spending time with my girlfriend, and our West Siberian Laika named Bella. She is, without exaggeration, the goodest girl.”
“Oxygen probably seems non-negotiable… Oh, and sleep is a winner. I’d have to consult with Maslow for the rest… (in short, a sense of humor)”
“I’m a fan of horror movies, sci-fi/fantasy books (think George Orwell meets Neil Gaiman), heavy metal, and a nice, well-aged single malt scotch.”
